Dear sir,
In My attached fil,I am creating a deck slab to make my steel beams as a composite beams. But I notice deck slab somewhere missing the steel beams .some beams are not composite? Why it is happening?do I have to add that beams manually in stad editor?
2.In other file I am using composite beam method. Which method you suggest ?is stiffeness increased in deck slab method?Self weight of concrete stad calculated automatically in both method by concrete width?calc5 deck f.std8863.calc4.std
reminder
calc5 deck f5.stdOne thing I also not getting .I did analysis By changing the density from 25 to 90 but results remain same ,for example deck RRRR in my attached file. And at dead load end forces also coming same for both densities (beam no 219).I also try to change the concrete density in composite beam method but result remains same only change in CW gives the different result...
Thank you sir,But by using beam composite method I feel difficulty to give each member its CW value ?Is it possible if I give all the member CW=1.5M which is conservative .and put density value very less like 2kg/m3 to ignore the concrete weight and take concrete load also as a floor load separately for all roof?
I had a very quick look at the model and here are some observations. When using the composite deck method, you have to define beams as steel sections only and not as composite sections. For an irregular type geometry as you have, you should define the composite beams explicity as opposed to using the composite deck.
To answer your other questions, composite deck does consider the slab and accounts for it's stiffness. Selfweight of concrete is calculated in either method based on the unit weight, thickness & width of concrete.
