Hi... How can i design lift shear wall in Staad Pro Advanced version? Unlike v81, surface option is not available in advanced version. I am not familiar with physical modelling in advanced version. Would it be accurate to design walls as plate?
Yes surface elements have been taken out from the CONNECT Edition as it had lot of limitations. A new surface/wall element is under development and it would allow you to model shear walls in the CONNECT Edition and get those designed using RCDC. For now you may use plates to model the walls. The following wiki has some additional information on this topic

Thanks. Can we introduce a vertical column (in between tapered columns) in staad pro and while designing in RCDC , ignore vertical column ?. It is showing tapered columns. But i am not sure how accurate the results will be .......
New surface/wall element when will be introduced?
There has been some change in plans since my last post, with regards to having a new element type. No new element is required. You just need to use Parametric Models to generate the plate element mesh for the shear wall and then you would be able to design these walls in using Advanced Concrete Design (RCDC)
using parametric model shows error fail to generate mesh. Hence not able to design these in RCDC.
