RSS Feed for Ram Elements, Ram SS, ISM, Ram Connection, Staad Pro

Is there a way to set up an RSS Feed to these sections of the Ram | Staad WIKI (not the Forums) so that I can read in Outlook and stay up to date on the articles posted there?

I used to have one that was linked to the entire Ram | Staad WIKI and it stopped working.  I would like to have separate RSS Feeds to each one of the WIKI sections noted in the subject line individually.

Thanks!

  • Up until about 4 weeks ago, I have been getting an RSS feed for all of the programs in the Ram | Staad Wiki only.  Every time you, Allen Adams or one of the others edit and update an article or create a new one, I have received it for years now.  I have some articles in my RSS folders dated as early as 2014.  Here is a one from Payel, "Revision 11 posted to RAM | STAAD Wiki by Payel on 8/14/2019 11:46:41 PM".  I don't subscribe to the Forum posts.  They would be overwhelming!

So, I don't know what "broke" it.  We changed our mail server for Outlook from a local server to a cloud-based server recently.  Or perhaps something was updated on Bentley's end.  Based on your reply and my searching earlier today, i think something changed on your web pages.

I was thinking that it would be nice to get separate feeds from some of the structural analysis program Wiki's.  Or I would still be content to receiving the same one that I got in the past.  I normally just delete the feed articles for Limcon, Microstran and some of the other ones without reading them.  Can you look into it?

  • You can turn on page notifications, but that's a unique setting for each page.

    You could also "Follow" individuals.

Everything else is under your Profile - Settings. There are notifications, subscriptions and email digests to control there.

  • The blogs shown are no longer active. But I assume the Wiki is still a good resource which is why I wanted to continue using the RSS Feed. Screen capture from RSS Feed in Outlook below.

  • SVGregory,

I assume you are referring to this:

    https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/rss

This seems to be working fine for me, at least in a web browser. Can you confirm? Note that we did recently make a change on Bentley Communities related that impacted security protocols, which has impacted the RSS feed feature built inside some Bentley products. I do not have experience with connecting RSS feeds to Outlook but I will try to look into this to see if it is a related issue.

  • I was using a slightly different link that got all of the WIKI articles for the Bentley Structural Analysis WIKI when it stopped working a month ago:
     communities.bentley.com/.../rss.aspx

I tried deleteing the feed and then adding it back in again. It seemed to work. I got 12 articles from 9/11 to 9/24. I'll watch it for a while and see if it continues to work.

Should I be using the link you supplied (above) instead?
    communities.bentley.com/.../rss

But what I really want if possible would be a separate feed for each program such as:
    Ram Elements
    Ram Structural System
    Staad Pro
    ISM
    Ram Connection

This would help organize the articles that come in and would weed out the other structural program articles that are not relevant to me.  I have been doing this manually for years.
