Is there a way to set up an RSS Feed to these sections of the Ram | Staad WIKI (not the Forums) so that I can read in Outlook and stay up to date on the articles posted there?
I used to have one that was linked to the entire Ram | Staad WIKI and it stopped working. I would like to have separate RSS Feeds to each one of the WIKI sections noted in the subject line individually.
Thanks!
I was using a slightly different link that got all of the WIKI articles for the Bentley Structural Analysis WIKI when it stopped working a month ago: communities.bentley.com/.../rss.aspx
I tried deleteing the feed and then adding it back in again. It seemed to work. I got 12 articles from 9/11 to 9/24. I'll watch it for a while and see if it continues to work.
Should I be using the link you supplied (above) instead?communities.bentley.com/.../rss
But what I really want if possible would be a separate feed for each program such as:Ram ElementsRam Structural SystemStaad ProISMRam Connection
This would help organize the articles that come in and would weed out the other structural program articles that are not relevant to me. I have been doing this manually for years.
Hi,
The two links you mentioned go to the same place. The first link you provided has the old Community name in the URL, and does not use HTTPS:
http://communities.bentley.com/products/structural/structural_analysis___design/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/rss
The new one is the current URL and uses the expected HTTPS:
https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/rss
In the past the Community name changed from "Structural Analysis & Design" to "RAM | STAAD" - at first we kept the URL the same, but at some point I recall we changed that to match ("ram-staad").
The old URL will still redirect to the new one, but the problem you had may have been related to security protocols and if you are using the HTTPS address now, that may be why it now works.

You could try setting up an RSS search for a tag. For example for STAAD.Pro:
https://communities.bentley.com/searchrss?tags=STAAD.Pro
There may be syntax to search in a specific Community/Wiki but I'd have to research and experiment.

Thanks for your help! If your web gurus figure out how to set up separate feeds for the Wikis, it would be greatly appreciated.
Glad to be of help. I'm looking into the community/application filter on RSS search and will get back to you.
Try this:
https://communities.bentley.com/searchrss?q=tag%3A%22STAAD.Pro%22%20%26%26%20type%3Awiki%20%26%26%20group%3A326
the "group" of "326" is the internal ID of the RAM | STAAD community (I can help you get the ID of other communities if needed) and the "Wiki" filters it to Wiki articles only. Double quotes are recommended to ensure everything is taken correctly.
Here is how it would look for the tag "Ram Elements"
https://communities.bentley.com/searchrss?q=tag%3A%22Ram%20Elements%22%20%26%26%20type%3Awiki%20%26%26%20group%3A326
Of course, this assumes that the wiki article with recent activity is properly tagged with the respective product name, which we tend to have a good habit of doing.
