Can someone confirm that the run structure wizard command is not working in version V8i?
I've been trying to start my modeling using this command it shows correctly in the wizard interface but when transferring the model to staad it will always give a reminder that duplicate nodes and beams are ignored then only one node is trasferred at the origin nothing else will show up in staadpro environment.
Kindly verify this bug.
thanks in advance.
Are you trying to add the model created in structure wizard to a new file or existing file. i tried to duplicate the problem from my end but i couldnt. Make sure that the units in which the model is created in structure wizard and the STAAD model are the same.
Fo this. in structure wizard, go to File>Select Units and select the appropriate units and then try to export the model to STAAD. if this too doesnt help, can you please send the exact steps you are trying to folow.
Nihesh, the model is basically a new file and by default the structure wizard has the same unit as the staad environment.
Anyways, thanks for your reply but I was able to solve the issue by reinstalling the software. I don't know what happen but after reinstalling the software it works fine now. Again thanks
when i try to import structure wizard frame model to stadd pro. it shows duplicate nodes ignored. and duplicate beams ignored. what is the reason? please clarify this doubt....
Duplicate nodes indicates that where 2 lines meet, there are two or more distinct node numbers defining that point. It may mean that in the CAD program that was used to create the DXF, the lines haven't been intersected. Check if your CAD program has an explode option that will break up intersecting lines at the points where they cross each other mathematically.
Duplicate members is indicative of overlapping lines in your CAD model.
In any case, you can use the various options of the Tools menu to detect and correct such errors from the STAAD model standpoint.
Sorry, my earlier answer was not correct.
When you bring a model from Structure Wizard into the main GUI of STAAD.pro, and if a model is already present in the main GUI of STAAD.Pro, then, adding the former to the latter may result in some node locations being duplicated. Similarly, when a new member falls on top of an existing member, it creates the possibility of a duplicate member. SW is informing you that such conditions have been detected and removing the duplicate entries.
