Hello,
I am having issues with the RAM Concrete Analysis module. Every time I start an analysis, I get an instability error, similar to the one below (the beam number is not always the same, but it is always at the top level of the structure.
The structure is a 14 story two-way slab with concrete moment frame columns. All of my frame columns and beams have fixed ends. I have tried removing and recreating levels and have searched the forums for other solutions to this issue. However, every time I run the analysis, I get an instability error message on the top floor.
Thanks,
Kyle Poklar
Ram Concrete analysis differs from Ram Frame in that every member is in the finite element model (gravity and lateral). If the members in question are gravity, you can also set the concrete beam fixity. UZ is for translation vertically, so it might also be some sort of meshing problem (disconnected beams). Seth,
Thanks for the response. I already sent the file after I submitted the post. I thought it might be a gravity member issue, but there are no gravity members on the Roof Level, and the beam that was flagged with an error was not a gravity member.
Kyle
Something has corrupted your Ram Concrete - Criteria - Analysis setting for rigid end zones, set it to something valid like below to continue.
Also note, check the gravity concrete beam fixity at the next higher story. I saw some stub cantilevers that probably need to be fixed ended.

I noticed I had to reset some of the settings, but I must have missed that one. Thanks for the help!
