MY QUESTION IS WHEN WE ARE GOING TO DESIGN WATER TANK OR ANY STRUCTURE IN WHICH WE ARE USING PLATE ELEMENT THAN WHENEVER WE GOING TO INCREASE PLATE THICKNESS THAN MOMEMT ALSO EXCEEDED THAN HOW CAN BE GO FOR THE DESIGN OF TANK WALL BECAUSE IF YOU ARE GOING TO REQUIRED THICKNESS CHECK IF IT IS NOT SATISFIED THAN YOU INCREASES THICKNESS BUT MOMEMT ALSO INCREASES THAN AGAIN WE INCREASES THAN AGAIN MOMENT INCREASES. SO PLEASE EXPLAIN ME WHY THIS HAPPEN AND HOW CAN BE PROCEED FURTHER WITH THIS PROBLEM.
Moment distribution depends upon the stiffness of different elements. As increase in the plate thickness results in increase in stiffness, it attracts more moments. So, you need to create a model with proper load path and stiffness distribution so that you can get a more realistic outcome. I believe other than plates there are also other elements. Check their stiffness and try to understand the behavior of your structure towards the applied load.
SORRY ABHISHEK BUT I AM NOT ABLE TO UNDERSTAND. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS STATEMENT CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN IN MORE DETAIL.
