Early October has come and gone, and still no release. I'm about to be building a new deployment for all of our department's machines, and would rather not put a version of RAM SS on and then ask them to update immediately. What is the status of this release?
Current plan is to release on October 25 but it is probable that we will miss that date. We are in the final stages of testing and correcting defects in a new feature; when that is completed we will release v17.00.
RAM Structural System V17.00 is now available.
Hi Allen,
I just opened RSS v17.00 and it is still saying I'm on a trial licence, with 2 days left until it expires.
Since this is a licensing issue for a specific account you will have to contact Tech Support. They can help you get that resolved.
Hello Allen, I'm having the same issue - so it seems to be a bug in the v17.00 release. When I updated to that version, it started a 7 day trial, which expired a few days ago (as shown below). Since then I have not been able to access my RAM Structural System models.
I've updated to v17.00.01 hoping that would help, but still nothing. We have full licenses, but in the license manager (as shown below) is showing Commercial in the various modules of RAM Structural Systems (i.e. Modeler, Concrete, Foundation etc) but Trial in RAM Structural System, which should only be serving as an interface to access the modules.
My colleague who manages the admin account has tried to resolve this, but to no avail. He has also updated to the latest version to see if his would work, but unfortunately his is now on a 7 day countdown, so we could do with some urgent assistance.
I've contacted Bentley through the Service Request Manager, but have not heard anything back yet, so would really appreciate if you could advise.
The problem isn't with v17.00 itself. When the licensing consolidation went into effect the records of all of the RAM Structural System users had to be manually updated so that they include this new license. Unfortunately the records of a small number of clients, including yours, got missed. To correct the problem I need to get someone in that group to correct your records. In order to do this I need to know what company you are with; you can contact me privately with that information. Unfortunately they may not get to it until Monday, after the holiday here in the US. You may be able to work around it for now by going to the Entitlement manager and setting the entitlement number for the RAM Structural System to the number of licenses you are entitled too; I think that might temporarily solve the problem, but I am not certain. I apologize for the inconvenience.
We just rolled back to V16 at our office a couple of days after installing v17 until all the bugs get worked out on v17. Between the licensing issues here, and the program stability/errors reported elsewhere, a rollback seemed the simplest, safest option.
Jc Randall's licensing problem was resolved last Saturday (thanks to Nancy who take care of it on a holiday weekend). If anyone else encounters this problem, where the Trial License notice appears when running the RAM Structural System even though you should have a valid license, let me know privately and we will get it resolved.
V17.00.01 is now available. It resolves some program crashes and usability issues that some users reported.
