Dear Colleagues,
I use STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition - Version 21.03.00.146.
As usual practise, we model the beams / columns at their respective centre lines (meaning no offsets), however, when I tried to model a waffle slab i get varied result - displacements especially.
The displacement of beam without offset (beam offsetted to match the top of slab/plate) is twice that of the beams with offsets (beam projecting above and below the slab/plate) - screen shots and staad file attached.
Please advice, which option would be best suited - for Waffle slabs.

Hi Dani Paul,
The model with no offsets will give over conservative results, while the model with offsets represents the true position of slab, as it will be on site. I would recommend to go with the offsets.
