Limcon offers the option of using FG/B and FH/B bolts in end plate connections.
What sort of bolts are these? Do they correspond to HSFG general and higher grade? If not, what?
Are these preloaded?
According to the manual they are tensioned bolts from the UK.
I had already looked in the manual and found the section you've shown. But the original question is more specific: are these HSFG bolts ('general' and 'higher' grade)? In other words are the bolts essentially the same as the FG and FH friction bolts (either NSS or NSF) referred to in the table above (which are HSFG type)?
Oh, yes - what actual grades are these (I'm in the UK and the way Limcon refers to them is not part of common bolt nomenclature)?
I'd be grateful of specifics here! We're working on a very large job and knowing exactly what these bolts are is very important to our work.
Hi Dan, I would take these as HSFG bolts. There are 2 categories, General Grade and Higher Grade and that is what I assume the G and the H represents.
Hi Dan, what design code are you using for these connections and I can compare shear and tensile capacity?
