Application of Temperature load in STAAD Pro

Hi,

Need some review on my understanding for a query "Application of Temp Load in STAAD Pro",

From my observation in this community's discussion for apply of temp load, the three values will be require for input cell in staad.

Here are Input details of temp load,

1. Stress free temperture - 28 °c

2. Max temp - + 30 °c

3. Min temp - -30 °c

DESIGN TEMPERATURE LOAD FOR  + 30 °c:

  • For Axial Elongation,  f1 - [(B+C)/2]-A              

Where  A  -   Stress free temperature that the beam was at when it was constructed or installed.D

             B  -   Temperature of top fiber of section -30 °c

             C  -   Temperature of bottom fiber of section - 28 °c

                                             f1            -            [(30+28)/2]-28           

                                             f1            -              1 °c

  • Temperature Differential from Top to Bottom of section,

                                             f2            -             B-C              

                                                            -           30 – 28

                                             f2            -           2 °c

DESIGN TEMPERATURE LOAD FOR - 30 °c:

  • For Axial Elongation, f1            -          [(-30+28)/2]-28                 

                                             f1            -           -29 °c

  • Temperature Differential from Top to Bottom of section,

                                             f2            -       -30 - 28

                                             f2            -       -58 °c
