I have a column that RAM won't design due to the following error (it is sloped and unbraced at a level). The issue is, the column IS braced at the levels the slope changes (Level 1 and Level 2), and even says so in the View/Update menu. What does T in Splice mean? There is only a mezzanine floor for which this column is unbraced, and that happens to be in the middle of the slope. Is there a way to fix this accurately so that RAM can give me a column design?
Double check your slope angle on the column from story to story is constant, when there is a kink, even a small one, the program can throw this warning.
"T" for spice means Temporary, because the program inserted is automatically due to change in material, shape, orientation or in this case slope angle.
