FOOTING MAX THICKNESS EXCEEDS FOOTING EMBEDIMENT DEPTH

hello. I was having a hard time trying to figure this error: FOOTING MAX THICKNESS EXCEEDS FOOTING EMBEDIMENT DEPTH

I tried changing the max depth to min: 500mm, and max: 1000mm still an error

I couldn't figure out how to solve this

thanks for the reply!.

  • The justification for this check is the following:

    (a) Under "Type of depth", you have specified that the elevation of bottom of footing is the datum, which means, that level is fixed. It is set to 1000 mm below ground level.

    (b) Under the Footing geometry data, the maximum thickness permissible is set to 1500 mm.

So, if the calculations indicate that the thickness required is greater than 1000 mm, it would result in part of the footing sticking out above the ground. To avoid this, (b) has to be less than (a) if the Type of depth is bottom of footing.
