You can create a node on member, however, if that member is not splitted, the node will by flying on in the air with no connectivity to that member, unless that node is connected to other parts of the structure (i.e. plates or master/slave spec).

Thanks for your reply. I have tried to copy the node but the member is getting splitted which was not my intention.

Try to enter the coordinates of the node manually instead of copying it.

I am trying to use Openstaad program. Adding new node automatically splitting the member. Any suggestion?
