PLATE STRESS AT TOP AND BOTTOM SIDE

Good morning,

I have to make question about STAAD Pro output plate stress ; in particular, I'm going to make a post processor excel file aimed to design concrete reinforcement of a slab according to ACI Code. Is It possible, for each shell, to obtain stress at the bottom and at the top side?

Is there a procedure to follow or a command that allow to have plate stress output (Mx, My, Myx, Sx, Sy, Sxy, SQx, SQy) at each side of the slab?

Thank you, regards

  • You asked:

    Answer:

If you are looking for the Combined stresses calculated as SX +/- MX/S and SY +/- MY/S, those are reported under the tab named Combined Stresses in the Plate Results table. See the following screenshot. But if you want the individual values like SX, MX, etc., (meaning, the raw values instead of the combined values), those too are available in the various tabs of the same table.

    Answer:

The table mentioned above has the information at the center of each element. If you need these values at the joints of each element, then, go into the editor and add the command PRINT ELEMENT JOINT STRESSES. After the analysis, the stresses will be available in the output file.

  • Considering the command PRINT ELEMENT JOINT STRESSES, is it possible to edith the input file  in order to print only SQX, SQY, MX, MY, MXY plate stress associated only to one load case/condition ?

    Thank you, regards

  • The lower table on the same page reports the corner stresses. Copy the data and paste it into Excel, then re-arrange the columns. You use the Select Load Case button to get the data for one load case at a time.
