How to place the bearing capacity (Support)for any type of structure in STAAD PRO

I have been modeling several structures, but I don't know how to analyze the interaction with the ground in the same staad, for example structures such as: buildings with footings combined with more than 2 columns, foundation slabs, tank ring walls etc. I want to do it directly in STAAD PRO, Do you have some video or tutorial where you can see the execution step by step.

  • There can be two ways of modelleing it. (1) If the supporting soil is hard with high N values, you can use the pinned or fixed support to model the structural supports. The reactions of those supports can be brought into STAAD Foundation Advanced and the appropriate foundation can be designed appropriately. (2) If the suppporting soil is softw with medium to low N values, you can model the foundation with finite elements which would be supported on springs - the spring stiffness determined appropriately from the value of the soil subgrade modulus.

It is to be remembered with the STAAD.Pro Advanced Concrete Design, we can design Isolated footings and Pile Caps only. But with combined footings with more than two columns, you can design that as a mat in STAAD Foundation Advanced. Tank Ring walls are available in STAAD Foundation Advanced.

I do not remember having any videos from the top of my head but if there is we will let you know. You can call support in case you need further help, or you can state your question in further details.
