In RAM SS, Beam gravity module. I am analyzing some web openings in the beam. The beam is designed as a composite beam. But the opening paramter, po, is checked against 5.6 ( recommended for steel section per AISC Design Guide #2)? Do you know the reason for that? Shouldn't it be compared to 6.0 ( recommended for composite section per AISC Design Guide #2) ? Please find the attached PDF and last page for the failure reason of web opening. Please let me know. If the deck is not shored (as indicated in the report), then the beam supports load in a non-composite state and the more stringent limit would apply.
