Hi,
Can anyone help me interpret the result of analysis where I modelled group of plates to resist a certain Pipe Load.
Loads are acted on Node 340 then Slaved to the point where the bolt of the U-type pipe support will be located.
My question is I am getting high values of plate stresses where I think it is too big for the load.
Maybe I am wrong and please enlighten me If my staad model is correct.
Thank you in advance.
Attached below is my Staad file

I do not see any modeling issues. You might see some stress concentrations at the slaved nodes. To reduce the stress concentration, you may use some more slaved nodes at the location of each bolt.

Thank you for the prompt reply.
In addition, I'm using a RIGID master slave but since the the load will be transmitted to the bolt, I wonder if I only use Master Slave then limit it to only FX, FY, and FZ. Am I using the parameter correctly?
I have an attachment for the connection from pipe to plate below.
Thanks in advance
It is hard to say how rigid the connection is. If it can transfer moments, then I think RIGID master/slave can be used.
