Hello,
When running my model, the message below appeared on my screen. It warned me that an instability was found at a rigid diaphragm defined in my model for RZ. It told me to check the elements attached to this diaphragm or check PDelta Effects. I ran the analysis without P-Delta with no problems, but when I run it with no issues. I changed up my load paths to change the issue, but no luck. Is there a way to check members that are connected to their respective diaphragm? Could you provide me with some guidance?
Thank you,
Skylar Calhoun
The program is RAM Structural System.
Start with these tips
I ran through the RAM Frame Troubleshooting, and I ran into the below issue on step 3:
I am checking to look for the elements attached to the diaphragm, and I am having trouble finding attached members.
I changed the solver type from Direct Sparse Solver to Direct Solver.
I ran through steps 1-4 without any issues, but when I had problems with step 5. I changed the diaphragm gravity loads and diaphragm masses. I changed the eigenvalues produced, and this window still appears
Is there a way I could check each diaphragm's connected members?
You can identify disconnected nodes using view - disconnected nodes. The report - Model Data is the only way to verify which nodes are connected to which diaphragms.
