Sir,How do I model in staad a pin connected joint ? Please see the attachment. The male eye pad (lug) of one member fits in the 2 female lugs of another member and a high strength pin is inserted through 3 lugs. A lock spring is inserted in the pin so as pin not to come out.How do I model this joint in staad ?Moreover, if I give an offset to a member in staad, does the design of that member be done according to that offset?Does this joint to be designed manually? (Like the thickness of lug plates, Pin size etc)PDF
Hi Murali,
You can model both members as plates, connecting them by members representing pins. Then provide corresponding member releases (normally, MY and MZ). The offsets will be taken into account and yes, this connection needs to be designed manually.
Mr. Andrej,
Thank you for your reply. Can you model that part for me and send .std or text file ?
