ONLY ONE DL & ONE LL.STD
Sir/Madam,
I am attaching a staad file. I had deleted all the loads, only using 1nos Dead load & 1nos Live load. Defined the same in Seismic definition.
Kindly refer memeber no 77 (corner column).
The axial load in this column due to (DL+LL, Load comb - 100) is coming as = 622kN
The axial load in this column only due due to EQX (static, Load case -1) is coming as = 614kN; i.e almost 100% that of DL+LL
This seems aberrant.
I have checked the model, loading repeatedly, but couldnot trace any error.
However, it is not understood, howcome axial load due to seismic load in X direction can be almost same value due to DL+LL.
It would be helpful if someone kindly explain this behaviour and if at all this can be possible.

Hi Arpan,
The model is OK. You may check the generated point forces and total base shear on each level in the Output file. The seismic load case generates loads in X direction that try to overturn the structure and the columns on the right have large axial forces and moments due to this.
