I am inuring on the basis on which the software Staad Pro considered when calculating the "Optimization Ratio" or "Unity Check". Does the Optimization Ration relate to the Yield Strength of the material or the stresses (Normal, Shear), Bending Moment, Deflection? Many Thanks.
Unity Check is carried out based on the equations published in the selected code. On a general note, STAAD.Pro does check for slenderness, axial tension/comp, bending, shear, torsion and interaction. Deflection is also checked when the user specifies the appropriate design parameters as per the selected code. For design as per AISC 360 specifications, one needs to specify the serviceability and strength envelopes to check for both deflection and strength.
Sorry for misspelling. I mean "inquiring".
