Hello, I'm designing a piping structure from STAAD.Pro. I want to know after i analyse the model from STAAD.Pro, how can i assigned a "beam to column flange Moment haunch connection" in the connection design? Is there anyway to add a Haunch after we assign Moment end plate?
Which design code do you want to use?
I'm using AISC code.
Also could you tell me which connection is available in STAAD.Pro connection design for a joint like below? I couldn't find any connection that fits with below joint.
Thanks in advance.
Go to Smart Connections, select AISC code, then select Moment End Plate BCF and assign the required template. Once the connection has been assigned to the joint, double click on that connection in the table on the right hand side - this will open the Connection Pad window. Select the Haunched member in the drop down list next to the Beam type option under the Members on the left hand side.
Thank you for your reply,
1) Can i know how can i add this Haunched to the top flange of the beam? Because i'm designing a temporary transportation beam for the structure and it requires Haunced at the top.
2) Can you please tell me which connection is available in STAAD.Pro connection design for a joint like below? I couldn't find any connection that fits with below joint.
Thank you
1) I don't think that it is possible to model haunch at the top flange
2) Such connection is not available, as far as I know.
