Beava AASHTO ASD/LFD

I'm running into an issue when I select AASHTO ASD/LFD when I try the Run Load Generator on the Staad.beava extension.  Im using STAAD.Pro Connect Edition and it still does not work.  A window pop-ups stating "Error: index out of rangeEnd of Run.."

It runs fine when I select AASHTO LRFD but I can not specify which vehicle to use which is what I need.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

  • AASHTO LRFD comes with a predefined set of loading and that is why there is no provision to define user defined vehicle for that code. The AASHTO ASD/LSD load generation has been non functional in STAAD Beava for some time now and I hate to write this, but unfortunately there is no way for me to get the development team to work on this due to reasons mentioned below.

LEAP is currently the bridge design solution offered by Bentley and so to avoid conflict, STAAD Beava is going to be deprecated in the near future. All features in STAAD Beava and much more are available in LEAP and that is the product being actively developed while all development in STAAD Beava has stopped.

So based on the situation above, here are some options that I can suggest

    1. You may go with a user defined vehicle definition and use the moving load generator in STAAD.Pro for generating the loads as opposed to using STAAD Beava

    2. As far as I remember, the load generation for AASHTO ASD/LFD used to work in very old versions of STAAD.Pro like STAAD.Pro V8i SS5 20.07.10.65. If you happen to have access to those older versions, you may try running the load generation in that version and then continue to use the more recent version for further analysis/design.

    3. Start using LEAP products in lieu of using STAAD Beava
