RAM is returning the wrong net deflection value for cantilevered members in Frame. See images below:
<<< net deflection incorrect
<<< gross deflection correct
Also the graphical output is not very good since the numbers are often right on top of one another.

In the steel beam module you can get the deflections at the end of the cantilever through the design report or through diagrams, but this will be a different value because Ram Steel beam only considers gravity loads, does not consider finite element analysis or indeterminacy, etc. See: https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/6513/ram-ss---analysis-types-tn
Ok nodal displacement within the Frame module. Is there a way to get accurate cantilever deflections within the beam module?
Report - Nodal displacements.
Seth,
Where do you find the nodal displacements in RAM Structural Systems?
Use nodal deflections to get total displacement at a cantilever end node. The member Net Deflections are deflections of the beam relative to a straight line between the ends, and meaningless for a cantilever beam.
