Hi. I have a K-brace (inverted V) modeled in RAM Structural System. When I check Frame story shears, I see a high horizontal shear due to gravity live and dead loads. I tried disabling P-delta but this did not help. What other reasons could be causing this issue? This only occurs at a couple of the floors and not all. thanks
What do you mean by eccentricity of gravity loads? At the level where I am getting the large shears, the diaphragm is smaller (it steps in), which changes center of mass relative to center of rigidity. Is that what could be causing it? I don't have stepped foundations. I do have footings under each column, but they are place holders and have not been designed yet.
