The default notional load factor applied to gravity loads when using the automatic load combination generator is 0.002. Is it possible to automatically generate load combinations in the most recent version of STAAD with a notional load factor other than 0.002?
Thanks,
AH
Unfortunately the Notional Load Factor that used to be part of the Direct Analysis Definition has now been removed as there is a new way to tell the software to iterate Taub which is part of the DIRECT ANALYSIS command itself. Unfortunately what that has also done is, it has removed one's ability to specify a notional load factor other than 0.002. We are going to put this back into the software. An enhancement (# 961242) is already there in our system for this. For now if you have access to an older version of STAAD.Pro like say STAAD.Pro v8i, you may just open the model in that version, do a direct analysis definition in that version with a different notional load factor, generate the automatic load combinations and then close the model and reopen it in the STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition. You would then have to remove the NOTIONAL LOAD FACTOR term from within the Direct Analysis Definition itself but you would be able to get all the combinations with the notional load factor of your choice, which otherwise would be more time consuming to generate. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We will get this addressed.
