Hello,
Is it possible to model a plate girder where the bottom tapers at the end of the beam while the top stays level? See below picture for reference
Are you not able to analyze the model and see the displacement tables on the right as shown next ?
Tried your methodology but didn't get the deflection value.
Few observations.
There are a couple of orphan nodes in the model which you may want to delete ( see pic below)
You have released the translations in X and Z at the supports. You may want to avoid doing that.
There are two consecutive analysis commands in the file. You may take out one to avoid getting a warning.
Please guide us to model curtailed plate girder as shown in attached pic in Staad Pro. We tried to model a plate girder in analytical modeling as well as in physical modeling. In an analytical model, we have got the freedom for cross section in section wizard but unable to curtail the section at ends; in a physical model, we have built a curtailed member by plates as attached herewith. But in this case, after analysis we don't get deflection values. Our design is deflection based not stress based.
Please guide us to analyse the curtailed section to get deflection & stresses.
