AISC - combined axial, bending and torsion

Dear,

If I have combined effects along with the torsion, as per ASIC 316 -10, for HSS member it should use eq. H3-6. Insted it only uses H.1 (no combined effects).

How to activate check of HSS as per eq. H3-6?

  • As per AISC 360-10 H3.2, eq. H3-6 should be checked only when required torsional strength, Tr, exceeds 20% of the available torsional strength, Tc. In your model, torsional force is much lower than torsional strength of the member, so H3-6 is not checked. If you would increase the torsional load, H3-6 check would be reported in the Output file.
