You would need to apply offsets to both extremities of the beam ( both start and end ) so that the beam edges match with the edges of columns. For example if you have a 600 mm square column and a beam 200 mm wide, the offset would be calculated and entered as shown in the pictures below

If you move node, beam's centerline will be connected to that node too, so you won't achieve what is required.

You can use a Beam Offset specification.
