There are many differences in those codes. Moreover 1993 version was related to detailing only where 2016 version covers design and detailing. There are some extra check for joint shear, relative strength etc. So, to satisfy those clauses the sizes need to be increased.&nbsp;</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
