When the tapered section is used as column, generally one face is constant and other face become tapered. Similarly for Beams, the top flange is straight and bottom flange&nbsp;&nbsp;become tapered. these are some limitation in reading tapered section thus not supported by Steel AD. <br /><br />in next release of STAAD (Update-5), Steel AD will read the tapered section with average dimensions of web and flange.&nbsp;<br /><br />in future, we will try to add the actual tapered section with some assumptions/inputs from users.</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
