vertical prestressing

hello guys i did the vertical pre stressing of my compression member in  negative direction of my load is 13120 kn of my each column , my axial force comes down because of negative direction but my deflection is coming same in x direction , only y deflection is reduced but obviously that  is no use  so any help highly welcome

2.my prestress force i need to apply in +ve or - ve load 102 m concrete tower without prestress.STD

  • hello Seth, I applied my prestressing force in the vertical elements to reduce my axial force and deflection. so I applied both signs such as (+ve and -ve) +ve force will not reduce my axial force and moments but my -ve sign did that. so my question is which one is preferable to sign .and both will not reduce my deflection too because i applied in y-direction force only it won't react with x and z deflection so what else i need to reduce my deflection with the help of prestressing ..
