I'm working in the RAM Elements Concrete Wall Module, and have applied a variety of loads (vertical DL & LL, in-plane W, out-of-plane W). However, once analysis is run, the axial diagrams and report shows axial load = 0. It does account for the applied moment due to the eccentricity of these vertical loads. I've tried removing the eccentricity, applying concentrated loads, and distributed loads, and still the output for axial demand = 0. It seems that self-weight DL is the only vertical load being applied. Has anyone else run into this issue?
(V15.00.00.18 of RAM Elements)
The Connection Client is the way to get update notifications. The RSS news feed in the program is another way to find out. Otherwise check release notes, announcements forum or jump into Software Downloads to check.
Thanks Seth. That did the trick. For what it's worth, it seems that the software was applying the load, it just wasn't appearing in the outputs. Is there a notification system that can alert users of updates that aren't appearing in Connection Client?
Use Ram Elements 16.02.00.88 if you can. It may not appear as an update thru Connection Client, but you can download it from Software Downloads. RAM Elements CONNECT Edition
That very well could be it. For Ram SS I use V17.01.01. I don't see an update available in the Connection Client for Elements V16 or otherwise. Was this rolled out separately? I'll follow the sharefile link in your reply, but I'm curious if I've missed other updates.
That's kind of an old version.
We recently had a problem that potentially could affect even your older version if RAM SS is also used see: https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/50368/masonry-wall-module---no-in-plane-forces-or-stresses
Otherwise send your file and I will check the current version behavior.
