can anybody tell me how staad foundation calculate the governing overturning moment becoz by manual calculation i m not getting the same result which is given by staad foundation advance.
for any support except wing wall and abutment.
The calculation is available in several examples in the verification manual for various foundation types.
The load cases in your model are set to either primary or service. None has been set to type Ultimate. Further, all the primary cases, which are the non-combination cases like pure dead, pure live, pure seismic, etc. are included in the job. Since SFA treats primary cases as candidates for concrete design, the concrete design in this model is being done for only those primary cases because there are no combination cases available for that purpose.
You need to
a) remove the primary load cases from the job (cases 1 to 8)
b) create load combinations specifically for concrete design and include them in the job
and then perform the analysis/design.
