Hi,
Subject : Importing Auto Pipe Stress Loading into Structural STAAD model (which is already having nos. of other primary load cases and load combinations) and feasibility to perform analysis and design in STAAD.
I am looking for your help to know whether pipe stress loadings (with a different load cases Dead, Operating, Thermal, Wind, Seismic & Hydrotest) from Auto Pipe software into Structural STAAD model is feasible to import and can perform analysis and design along with below described primary load cases and load combinations which is quite very common in Oil and Gas industry.
Actually, I have seen PIPELINK integration between STAAD & AutoPIPE presentation which explained nicely in a stepwise manner for how to import of Auto Pipe model to STAAD structural file with ONLY for pipe stress loadings.
But, in general, in a structure there are many other types of loadings and load combinations that are inevitable for analysis and design of structure. So, Structural STAAD file consists of different possible primary load cases like Self weight of structure, other dead weights, live loads, wind load on structure (4 load cases), seismic load on structure (2 load cases), snow loads, crane loads, equipment loads (empty, operating and hydrotest) and last but not least Piping loads (empty, operating, hydrotest, friction, anchor and guide load). Further, there are corresponding 100s of load combinations.
So, can you please advise me in this regards…
Appreciate your support.
