Dear Bentley,
Can you explain if axis and context have any purpose for vertical deflection plot?
Thanks,
Quang
The Axis does not matter for vertical deflection results which are normal to the axis. For more on Context check the program manual, Chapter 32, Plotting Results.
Thanks Seth.
So as per my understand, we always use "Standard" for deflection and just use "Max/Min" for forces and stresses. Please let me know if anything is wrong.
Not necessarily. You might want Max context for vertical deflections too.
I read manual and it warns if using Max context as below, however this is adopted for lateral displacement, for vertical deflection, I think all contexts are same. Is this correct?
No, vertical deflections include a range so Min and Max contexts are important. We even provide one of each plot by default for service type load combinations.
Dear Seth,
Can you explain the difference when we select "Standard", "Max/Min" for deflection?
In manual, just loading is mentioned for above context option.
