Just wasted 2 hours trying to solve a problem of why RAM kept crashing out whilst updating an ISM model to import into REVIT.
As a last desperate attempt I decided to rename the RAM model file without any spaces and lo and behold it worked!
I can't believe Bentley don't notify us users of this problem or produce a check sheet to run through.
The hours I've lost with this exchange system is maddening :/
I've created lots of ISM repositories with spaces in the name, so this is surprising.
What version of RAM SS? What version of Synchronizer? What was the original file name for the ism.dgn?
Hi Seth,
Currently running the latest RAM 17.01.01.05 and the Structural Synchronizer version is 11.01.02.09
The original file name for the ism.dgn was 'Retail.ism.dgn' the Ram file was named 'Retail RAM Design.rss' before I took out the spaces.
Odd I know.
Cheers
Craig
I tested the file that you sent in through the service request. I used the default file name, matching the RAM SS file, "Retail RAM Design.ism.dgn". I have the latest Synchronizer version 11.01.02.09. It's also crashing on me. I renamed it with no spaces and it still crashes however. I'll investigate what else might be causing the problem.
Like you, I was able to export the repository if I call it something else entirely (my test was "xyz.ism.dgn"). There is just one deck warning of note. Oddly I can take another model with some long name, including many spaces and it's fine. I'll have to consult with the developers to understand why the original file name combinations ever caused a problem. Thanks.
