Why does staad RCDC provide higher dia bar reinforcement at top of a beam even at the centre of beam?

Why does staad RCDC provide higher dia bar reinforcement at top of a beam even at the centre of beam?

Is it due to lateral EQ loads included in analysis or some other reasons? Max dia option is selected for detailing.

    if you have selected the Max dia option for detailing, it will provide the maximum diameter at first layer of reinforcement. I believe this is expected by you as max dia option is selected.

    detailing styles:

    1. Best fit– All three sections will be detailed as per best fit arrangement. In this scenario the three diameters could be different.
    2. Max Dia – All three sections will have the same diameter bar. This will be decided as per the diameter used in the section with the largest required area of reinforcement.
    3. Min Dia – This is the classical hanger bar system. All three sections will have the same diameter based on the least diameter required in the section with the least required area of reinforcement

    Ast calculation whether due to Eq or other load combinations, we would request you to check the detailed design calculation. if bending moment exists at mid zone of the beam, RCDC will design the reinforcement for that bending moment
