I have been using RAM concept to model a banded slab and have a peculiar result (for AS3600-2018). RAM is calling up additional bottom steel perpendicular to the band for strength in the check it does before checking shear.Starting 8.1 Flexure DesignFlexural/Axial Design Excluding Shear/Torsion Tension:Preliminary Bending DesignAs Top 0 mm² ()As Top Developed 0 mm² ()As Bot. 252.3 mm² (8.1)As Bot. However, if I run the exact same model with no changes using AS3600-2009 there is no additional steel that is required.
What is going on here, why is the steel called up when it is excluding any of the tension due to shear? Let me know if you need any further information.Thanks

I have uploaded the two files, however you may need to remove the user reinforcement - the strip being audited is "Auditing 11C-1(2), section 11", but this occurs in multiple locations.Thanks,David
The reinforcement is associated with the shear/torsion tension designed for an earlier envelope (Envelope #3) in this case. The program designs for the envelopes in sequence and the reinforcement that is determined for any given envelope is carried over to the next envelopes that are designed.
