RCDC Pile Cap Design

Hi

When RCDC designs a pile cap I find that when I look at the drawing produced by the program, there is a small portion of the pile, protruding into the pile cap. This dimension is given as 40mm. I wish to make this 150mm. How do I do this.

In SFA this is called "Pile in Pilecap". Ive also posted an SR on the same subject but there has been no response. THe SR number is 7001163209.

Kindly let me know how to do this.

Regards,

I personally don't have access to SR. Please let us know when the SR is raised.

we would always request user to share some mark up snaps if they are posting queries here. This will help us understanding what is there is client mind and it would always easy to understand the query.

    Please share some snaps

  • Dear Sir

The pile protruding in pile-cap is shown as indicative with some proportion with the bottom cover. Example- if the bottom cover is 50mm then it is shown as 40mm. for 100 and 150mm cover it is shown as 80 and 120mm respectively. Refer below snap if 150mm bottom cover is provided. This is just to make sure that there will be some cover provided above pile head where pile-cap reinforcement is provided.

Maximum bottom cover allowed is 150mm thus maximum 120mm pile protruding in pile-cap can be shown. If user wants to maintain it to 150mm then it is to be modified separately in drawing. Please note that effective depth of pile cap is depend on the bottom cover and accordingly design is performed.
