Hi guys,
I was trying to create hole on a curve plate. First of all, I have multiple nodes along the edges of the curvy side. Then, I choose parametric model, selecting all the nodes to create mesh but it seems like there is some problem in creating the mesh. Appreciate advice from the community!
I don't think that it is possible to generate a plate mesh on a curved plate by using the Parametric Modeling tool.
You may try to model one line of plates and then use the Circular Repeat command to generate the remaining plates along the curvature. Hole in the mesh will need to be created manually though.
yes, creating plate mesh to me is not a problem. Like you mentioned, using circular repeat is quite straight forward. However, when we create the hole , this can be an issue. As we delete the plate elements, leaving sharp corners, it can't be a perfect hole and you will see highly localized stresses on those corners. Not sure if you have any experience in creating a hole in a better way?
