How can i apply area load in Gx and Gz direction. I have a 6mx6m closed frame and i wanted to apply area load in the Gx direction or in the Gz direction. Neither i can see the load application nor the impact.
Please help.
Try using the Floor Load option instead of Area Load.
In the version V8i also i was able to use area load in Gx, Gy and Gz directions. I am able to use the area load in the GY direction but not in GX and GZ direction. Please advice how can i use area load in all the global directions.
The AREA LOAD feature was replaced some time back by the FLOOR LOAD option. Although the AREA LOAD feature is still available within the program, we highly recommend using the FLOOR LOAD option instead as it is a much more powerful tool capable of handling complex geometry and one-way loading. Is there any specific reason why you need to use the Area Load?
yes Because of the irregularity of the geometry and variation of loads. It was very convenient for me to apply loads using area load command instead of floor load (defining x,y, and z range). Is there any other-way to apply loads in Gx & Gz direction.
Also can You please provide me the direct link or easy reference for the amendment done in Staad-pro connect edition with reference to Staad Pro V8i.
Could you attach that STAAD.Pro model to check? All new features implemented in STAAD.Pro are listed in STAAD.Pro Help -> What's New section.
