Hii,
can you suggest, how to calculate Shear Area of Pipe sections.
I have to create a new Pipe sections which is not there in the standard section list.

this discussion doesn't give an apt reply about the shear area.
I see a recommendation, "In a round shape the effective shear area Av is 60% the gross area (Ag)...... Av=0.6 x Ag"

was in between 50% (which they mentioned at the start) and 60%.thank you for the reply.
