I am adding openings in a lateral concrete shear wall at the ground level and the foundation is lowered by 1.2m below the ground level. When I add the openings in the elevation mode and place the doors with a Y elevation of 1.2m the doors show up at the ground floor level. However when I go into a 3D view the doors are shown above the ground level and are penetrating the first floor level. When running the wall design in the concrete module the opening are shown at the same location as the 3d view in modeler. At the ground floor should the Y elevation be based off of the top of footing elevation or the ground floor elevation?
I tested this in version 17.02. The openings I placed are in a wall where the bottom has been lowered by a continuous footing -1.67'
The openings I placed had Y offsets of 0 and 1' measured from the bottom, and both work as expected in both elevation and 3D views.
In the model I am working on this is the elevation veiw.
But the 3d view looks like this.
And in the concrete wall module the wall looks like this
I am using version 17.01.01.05
I would try making an adjustment, reset the foundation elevation and then lower it again. If that does not correct things then it's the meshed model view in Ram Frame that counts.
Earlier today I deleted all of the foundations and then put them back in at the correct elevation and that did not change anything. The meshed model view in Ram Frame looks correct.
So the shear wall design in concrete wall module will have correctly evaluate the wall even though the openings appear at the wron elevation?
It's hard to say since I can't reproduce the issue here. The analysis should be fine since the meshed walls have the openings in the right place (though I would recommend a smaller mesh since you have only a single element between edge and opening). Spot checking the forces using the Ram Frame - shear wall forces module and comparing to Ram Concrete Shear Wall mode would be good. Also update to v17.02 if you have not already done so.
