I'm designing a concrete slab in STAAD. AT the end of the file, I have the following and would like to define the cover as 2.6":
START CONCRETE DESIGNCODE ACI 2011UNIT INCHES KIPFYMAIN 60 ALLFC 4.5 ALLDESIGN ELEMENT ALLCLB 2.6 ALLCLT 2.6 ALLEND CONCRETE DESIGNPRINT SUPPORT REACTIONFINISH
The output gives a cover of 0.75" which is not was defined in the input, the following is an example:
ACI 318-11 ELEMENT DESIGN SUMMARY =====================================
ELEMENT LONG. REINF MOM-X /LOAD TRANS. REINF MOM-Y /LOAD (SQ.IN/FT) (K-FT/FT) (SQ.IN/FT) (K-FT/FT)
FY: 60.000 KSI FC: 4.500 KSI COVER (TOP): 0.750 IN COVER (BOTTOM): 0.750 IN TH: 6.000 IN 2 TOP : Longitudinal direction - Only minimum steel required. 2 BOTT: Longitudinal direction - Only minimum steel required. 2 TOP : Transverse direction - Only minimum steel required. 2 BOTT: Transverse direction - Only minimum steel required. 2 TOP : 0.065 0.00 / 0 0.065 0.00 / 0 BOTT: 0.065 0.07 / 4 0.065 0.06 / 4
How do I get the cover accurately considered in the output?
This is happening because your CLB and CLT parameters have been added after the DESIGN ELEMENT command. Please move those parameters before the DESIGN ELEMENT command using the editor.
