Why does Rcdc gives much more column reinf. as compared to req. area of steel in staad pro.?

RCDC is giving much more area of steel than required as per staad pro. ? Is due to no. Of bars settings for columns in RCdc?

    The column design philosopy is same in both the software, if the all parameters are same, it show similar results.

    for result comparison please make sure that following is same in both the software's,
    1. Material and size of column

    2. effective length factor and slenderness calculation

    3. critical combination

    RCDC optimized the reinforcement as per design requirement. if the spacing required in more than the set in reinforcement settings, it also increase the spacing. ( reduces the % reinforcement)  if you select optimized reinforcement setting.

    please check above points.
