Top steel in footing in RCDC

In some footings inspite of unchecking the option of top steel in RCDC it gives top steel.

on increasing the size of footing in design of individual footing,the top steel is Still provided.
please advice on how this can be removed.

    Hi,

    if you are using IS 456 code, then it is mandatory to provide minimum 360sqmm steel as per clause 34.5. it is applicable to each direction on each face . So, it is applicable to top reinforcement along both the directions. refer below snap from code,



    So, in RCDC even if users doesn't select to provide top steel and footing depth is more than 1000mm, RCDC provides top steel.

    when user selects to provide top steel, it provides maximum reinforcement from user input and code clause.
