May I know why for Frequent service load combination, tensile stress is checked using Table 5?
From my understanding, Table 4 should be used when strip is full panel width and Table 5 is used when strip is design strip width as stated in TR43. Regardless of load combination used, stress limits should be based on the strip width considered.
There is a workaround where u can change the load factor to 0.7 in Characteristic service load combo but I am curious on why is the code was implemented as such.
Please note that on page 8 of TR43 it notes the following 'that It should be noted that the permissible stresses given in Table 4 ofSection 5.8.1 are average stresses for the full panel assuming an equivalent frame analysis and not a FE analysis, Table 5 is more appropriate for this form of analysis.
