In the "Helps" said that combined wall is Overlapping or intersecting walls. But I want a straight combined wall to Design in RCDC
The wall are not combined in straight direction with the condition in "helps". I found that, the wall are combined after I add a beam at top of wall as a picture below.
The quations are..
1.Are there any other method to combined the straight wall?
2.Are there anyway to add the strut on top(as the picture below) that the wall are still combined?
(if there are addition node on beam at top of wall the wall aren't combined)
Hi, guy
Or I should model once wall/column per side?
Best regards
Hi,
Refer to the attached document for requirement of modelling a combined wall in RCDC.

Thanks for your response. If the wall are 40 meters of length, can I divided the wall every 5 meters and model the column in every 5 meters?
Second, exactly the model is a RC water tank then I want to put the strut(blue line in picture) between the wall. How to create it?
Water tank model that you need to create in STAAD and Design in RCDC has different modelling requirements.
You need to model the walls as Parametric surface and assign type walls, sub type - Tank walls.
Refer attached document which will help you understand the requirement of modelling a water tank in STAAD that can be imported to RCDC.

Parametric surface and assign type walls, sub type - Tank walls >> The design would be based on EN 02 - 2004 + EN 03 – 2006 UK code. But in my country prefer to use ACI318-2014 which is not support parametric surface type tank wall and tank slab.
So I have no choice to model tank wall design under ACI318 code except model the wall tank as combined wall. If you want more informations. please let's me know.
